A piece of history - North Beach Bathers' Pavilion reopening.
Originally built in 1938, North Beach Bathers’ Pavilion on Wollongong’s Blue Mile celebrated its reopening on September 30 to a sea of celebration. The newly refurbished historical building was the site of a 1930s themed community day, with both young and old coming along to enjoy the festivities. The building was restored to heritage standards and was officially opened by Wollongong Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery. The colourful celebrations included barbershop quartet The Arcadian Minstrels, a surf lifesaving display, long board surfing and a 30s bathing suit themed hula-hoop performance by Circus Wow.
